Melbourne Day 4

Just got back from work and am tired, but at the same time, frustrated with vodafone. Every single time something gets fixed, another problem appears. First they weren't canceling my old account, then they weren't transferring my old number across (and now I find out that to carry my old number across, it costs $20...!), then my internet stopped working (no 3G, what!) and then my data plan was screwed up and I had 50mb instead of 1gb PLUS 200mb.

After fixing all that up, now billing. They're making me pay for that 1gb when it's meant to be entitled with the plan. AND for some reason my old account is still existing and getting billed for that too.

I feel like typing up a whole page of rant, but I guess I shall stick to food, and then go sleep. (Breathe in, breathe out... stupid vodafone...)

So it's Melbourne Day 4.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Purely sightseeing now because conference is over. Walked around the park...

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Pretending to be all artistic, but I don't really hold much interest in nature photography, I prefer taking food.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
But I'll admit, some things are rather cute, like the loner mushroom there.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Melbourne has nice trees =D Definitely huggable.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Lunch was at a random cafe... (breakfast consisted of instant noodles and meatballs/ fishballs, cooked in our service apartment.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
The Vineyard.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
This was at St Kilda's. The park was there too, so it was just a short walk along the coast to many shops that sold pies and cakes.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Interesting suburb... reminded me of Rozelle, or Balmain...

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
They ordered mushroom and chicken gnocchi...

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
PT ordered a squid salad...

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
And I was hungry so I ordered wagyu burger. I realise I order food for the presentation so it'll look nice in photos, but may not necessarily taste good...

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Their luna park.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
An art museum.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Even the kids in Melbourne are much more well-behaved and cuter than the ones in Sydney.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Walking into a large empty hall in the museum, this is what you'll see if you look up.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
A whole ceiling of stained glass. People were laying down on the carpeted floor and gazing up onto this. Quite relaxing indeed.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
I find myself taking random photos of the sculptures, statues and artistic stuff around..

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
... but I still prefer food. I mean, what is this???

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
and this??

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
and this?? Spot the real people and the fake people =D

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
These were the fake people, posing in front of a wall of running water.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Old school!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
$200 for a music ball.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Abstract building.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
I think I should stick with food photography afterall.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
I think you think that too.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Churros store at Flinders Street station!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Chocolate churros. Not that great, I much prefer the typical Spanish churros that are served piping hot and dipped into melted chocolate =D Like at San Churros!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
This entry may be a bit tedious, but what can one expect from sightseeing...

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
This house looks like it might have an elderly couple living inside with a brown furry little dog, and the scent of freshly baked scones wafting through the living room that is lit up by a fireplace.

Not really.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Ding ding ding ding...! This is typically seen in anime, where the girl riding a bicycle gets off her bike and stares at the train going past, and usually in the train...

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
there's a guy who likes her and he sees her on the side of the road. Then whisshhh, the train goes past and the girl misses the guy.

Yea... something like that....

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Railway tracks!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Oh, the storm clouds are gathering~

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Brighton Beach! It was freezing. Even colder than seeing the Little Penguins on Phillip Island, Day 1.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Most of the seashells were broken, but I did manage to pick a few nice ones.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
What's so special about Brighton Beach?

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
What's that row of colourful stuff far yonder?

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Walking closer to the colourful stuff... that's looking quite creepy, that lane... sensing some deja vu...

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
The rain was holding for us!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Mr Macdonald lives in that one!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
The Great Wave Off Kanagawa!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Camera starts throwing a tantrum when it gets dark..

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Exhausted and cold from the long day, we went into a Korean restaurant near our service apartment called Dae Jang Geum. Most aunties would have watched the Korean Drama that goes by the same name. My mum certainly spent many nights watching it.

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
A whole wall of Korean symbols!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Unlimited side dish refills!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
I forgot what this was, but great for winter!

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
Hot soup plus steamed rice and side dishes... I had forgotten why I didn't used to like Korean food. Oh wait... all that garlic...

From Melbourne AMTA Conference/ Sightseeing
We actually had this two nights in a row because it was quite cheap. PT's prawn bibimbap.

And now it's time to sleep.

... incompetent vodafone...

Ah, the incompetence of vodafone.. it's amazing how many errors they've made with your account already and how difficult they make it to contact them about it (seeing as the store front people are useless and just redirect the problem elsewhere.)

There's a Dae Jang Geum here in chinatown as well, but I've never tried it (though I've watched it before - you have to watch it =P)

I know! >< It's so frustrating, and it's costing me (unless they manage to get my charges reversed after they "look into it")!

No time to watch Dae Jang Geum, it's really long I heard...
